ATHENA COMMUNITY BUILD
“Safe Shelter is a non-profit organization that provides community and supports people to secure permanent housing. We create a welcoming space where all families and all people can feel at home.
ATHENA helps create affordable housing through a community-driven approach that combines workforce training, hands-on education, and volunteer-built tiny homes. By leveraging donated materials and expert guidance, the program provides safe housing opportunities for individuals overcoming housing challenges.
Volunteer days are Tuesdays from 10 AM – 7 PM and Sundays from 1 PM – 6 PM. Help build tiny homes, shelves, and picnic tables; plant trees and flowers; spread mulch, weed, mow, remove invasive species; or assist with painting and decorating.
