Our Year in Review - Happy Holidays!

BECAUSE OF YOU, WE MADE IT THROUGH.

With much gratitude, we look forward to the good things to come in 2021!

To our dear friends, family, colleagues and clients,

For us at Town and Mountain, this year has been one of growth and self-reflection with ourselves and our family pods. It has provided an opportunity to take stock of the many things we are thankful for. It has been a year of gratitude that we have been able to survive the economic and health implications of this pandemic. We are incredibly grateful that real estate has remained a viable business and that we have been able to keep our employees working all year. We are grateful for our agents and staff and the new agents that have joined us during this difficult time.

Our office culture has changed and we have limited physical contact with each other but we are thrilled with amazing turnouts at our Zoom meetings and trainings. We have even managed to have a few outside, socially-distanced happy hours at local businesses like Rabbit Rabbit, to stay connected.

2021 will continue to bring us a new way of doing things. Town and Mountain will continue to strive for a healthy and safe way of doing business. We plan to continue to serve our community with the utmost professionalism and to provide assistance in any and all of your real estate needs. We enjoy talking real estate! Shoot us an email or text, or better yet give us a call.

May you and your family and friends find new ways to celebrate this holiday season that bring joy and comfort throughout the new year. Let us hear from you in 2021!

Silver Linings

While we know this year has been trying, it's worth reflecting on how we've spent time learning to cultivate our inner resilience, to love and soothe and support ourselves—and to find compassion and companionship in unexpected places. With each new turn, speed bump, road block or challenge, we must try not to let the silver linings be forgotten! Here are some positives of this year for Town and Mountain Realty.

We've Moved!

At the end of 2019, we moved from our old office on the Southslope which served us well for many years, into a brand new, beautiful, light filled space on Beacham's Curve in West Asheville. We spent almost 3 months pre-Covid settling in and making the space our own. While we haven't been able to utilize the office to its full extent, we look forward to many happy years to come at our new home in Beacham's Curve. We have really enjoyed getting to know our new neighbors and love being a part of the West AVL business community! (Beautiful photo of our building below by Curve Theory

Voted Top 3 Firms in WNC!

One of our proudest moments this year, thanks to you, our community, we were voted one of the top 3 real estate firms in Mountain Xpress Best Of WNC! Our number one goal is to be an integral part of our community. Not only do we strive to give our clients the most honest, informed, positive experience in buying or selling their home, we hope to leave a lasting impression on our community. This award, for a small, independent firm like ours, was a nice reminder that our hard work and staying true to our values pays off - THANK YOU.

Lessons Learned, and Time Spent

One of the most important lessons we've learned as a whole this year was to slow down. That is not something we as Realtors are very good at nor have the ability to do, but there were times this year we didn't have a choice. We learned that so much is out of our control, and we must simply be in the moment. It has given us perspective, and made us more aware of the little joys in life. We have much more appreciation for things like meaningful, quality time with loved ones, a good cup of coffee, and the beautiful nature that surrounds us.

Some of the hobbies our agents and staff have had the time to develop during this year were baking, cross stitching, making music, sewing, homesteading, flower art, gardening, and so much more.  Another big plus was having more of an opportunity to connect with nature and take advantage of living in a place that still allowed for SAFE and outdoor fun in our beautiful mountains. We hope that in spite of the challenges of this wild ride of a year, you too have been able to see some good come out of it!

Giving Back is Important NOW More Than Ever

Among the numerous challenges the Coronavirus has presented, the inability to engage in our normal volunteer activities has been particularly hard for our group. Sadly, for safety reasons we had to cancel our annual Home for the Holidays FUNdraiser event at the Orange Peel. Despite these limitations, we have continued our efforts to give back to our community through monetary donations, joining task forces, participating in committees, gift giving and volunteering when and where we could. We are currently participating--along with several other businesses at Beacham’s Curve-- in a food drive for Manna food bank and a winter gear collection for BeLoved Asheville.

Additionally, the fight for racial justice has been in the forefront of our minds this year and we have been proud to support several local non-profit organizations working towards ending racial inequality and creating equity with monthly contributions and spreading awareness.
