After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1997, I found myself working at a little coffee house in historic Biltmore Village. I immediately fell in love with the area. After a seven-year stint in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Eastern North Carolina, I returned home to the call of the mountains of Western North Carolina and Asheville. Sure, it had grown up a bit, but the beautiful soul of this place that I had fallen in love with so many years before was more vibrant than ever.
My husband and I have been blessed to call Asheville home for fifteen years now. We have owned several different homes while living here, and with each we have always said, “This one is our favorite!” We bought our first, a darling 1920s Arts & Crafts bungalow in downtown Asheville, and loved both the joys and challenges of renovating an older home. Much like Asheville, an older home comes with a soul. It’s not just a house...it is a piece of our history.
A few years later we moved into the beautiful historic neighborhood of Kenilworth, where we have now lived for thirteen years. Our most recent residential project occurred four years ago when we decided to build a new home. Terrified at first, I quickly discovered the great fun that comes with building from the ground up. I enjoyed the creative processes involved with this endeavor and appreciated the opportunity to really put my design skills to work. I would build another one again in a heartbeat.
Combining my previous work experiences in international hotel sales, events planning, counseling, and interior design, real estate is a natural fit for me. I have an eye for detail and for seeing the best potential in properties. I have an ear for really hearing and understanding my clients’ needs. Asheville and the surrounding area are home to so many diverse communities, neighborhoods, and styles of homes. I discover something new every day. Real estate is my passion and I would love to share it with you. What are you looking for ... an older home, a newer-built, or something in-between? I would love to help you discover your next favorite!
More About Me:
When not practicing real estate, I am out and about exploring this fabulous area with my husband, three kids, and two dogs. As a family, we love paddling our beautiful rivers, hiking, biking, and (in winter) skiing our gorgeous mountains, and camping. Personally, I enjoy urban running and yoga. On weekend evenings we love grilling out with friends, venturing downtown or to the RAD for a bite and a bit of live music, or simply wandering over to a neighbor’s front porch for a glass of wine.
My community gives so much to me and it is important that I share back. I love spending time in my childrens’ schools, Claxton Elementary and the French Broad River Academy, volunteering at various levels. As a family, we enjoy organized neighborhood clean-up days and working with the French Broad River Keeper on river clean-up days. Other organizations that I support are Asheville Greenworks, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, and the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
