After a 44-year career in wealth management, I retired from Morgan Stanley, having served as a Senior Vice President and spending decades helping clients navigate complex financial decisions with care, strategy, and long-term perspective. As a Certified Financial Planner, I built my career on trust, relationships, and thoughtful guidance; values that continue to shape my work today.

Retirement, however, didn’t suit me for long. I quickly realized how much I missed working with people and building new relationships. A natural next chapter emerged when my daughter, Nan Lively, an experienced broker with Town and Mountain Realty, invited me to join her in the business. We have always loved working together, and real estate allows us to combine our skills, shared values, and deep commitment to client service.

Originally from West Virginia, I spent 33 years in Charlotte, though the mountains were always where my heart felt most at home. Over the years, our family was continually drawn back to visit my parents in Hendersonville, to take our four children to UNC Asheville, to build a home in Montreat, and to restore an 1870s farmhouse in Yancey County. Fourteen years ago, my wife Nancy and I made Asheville’s Grove Park neighborhood our permanent home and often ask ourselves, “Why didn’t we do this sooner?”

Outside of real estate, I enjoy hiking, working on our family farm, and staying closely connected to the financial markets.

Nan divides her time between Asheville and New Orleans, and thanks to today’s technology, we work seamlessly together on behalf of our clients. I am based locally and always available, while Nan provides both in-person and virtual support. Together, we offer the personal attention, strategic thinking, and steady guidance of two professionals working as one team.
