Vacationing in the area with my family growing up, I developed a love of WNC as a child. Visiting one of the kids in college at UNCA, my wife and I decided we would one day live in the Asheville area. After nine years on the coast in North Carolina, we have traded salt air for the beautiful skies and blue ridges, not to mention the spectacular autumn leaf show and wonderful diversity of Asheville.

My first job out of high school was working with a construction company. This experience helped me understand the integrity of building and gave me the experience to make additions and major remodels to homes I owned.

During my college days, I was a manager trainee and “third man” for a major department store. This helped me develop a sense of responsibility of running a company, and relationships with employees and customers. During this time I met a wonderful group of deaf children and adults and decided I wanted to teach.

Having been an educator and coach in a residential school for the deaf and public schools, and serving as a free- lance sign language interpreter, getting to know people and their needs has been a big part of my career. Teaching and coaching is a seamless transition to being a real estate broker. An important part of working for you is to listen and understand your needs, and coach you so that you can make the best decisions.

Serving the community is where I feel best. I served as Vice Flotilla Commander with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. It was a wonderful experience working with the coastal community in boating education, vessel safety inspections and updating Aids To Navigation charts. I am also a volunteer with The Nature Conservancy here in Asheville. My wife, children, and I are strong advocates of preservation and conservation. I have also had the privilege to serve as a sign-language interpreter for friends in the Deaf community.

My wife, Sharon, and I enjoy everything Western NC offers from hiking and paddling, the downtown concerts and music venues, restaurants, the local artisans, and the diverse Ashevillians.
