Canton Easter egg hunt: 10 a.m. at Canton Rec Park on Penland Street.

Dillsboro Easter Hat Parade: Show off your best Easter hat. Starts at 2 p.m. at Town Hall on Front Street. Antique cars, hat contestants, Easter Bunny. Last-minute entrants welcome. Registration starts at 11 a.m. Come to Dogwood Crafters at 10 a.m. to make a hat. Visit www.dillsboronc.info/events. html.

Easter at Lake Junaluska: Celebrate Easter weekend at Lake Junaluska with 5K and 10K run and children's fun run, egg decorating contest and other Easter games. Starts at 8:30 a.m. Visit www.lakejunaluska.com or call 800-222-4930 for more information.

Easter egg hunt: First Baptist Church, 63 N. Main St., Weaverville, and Weaverville United Methodist Church, next door, co-host a festival 1-2:30 p.m. on the lawn between the two churches. Ages 3 years through sixth grade. Games and snacks. 645-6720.

Easter egg hunt: First Presbyterian Church of Swannanoa, 372 Bee Tree Road, hosts multiple hunts 2-4 p.m., plus candy and prizes and face painting. 686-3140.

Easter on the Green: Asheville Downtown Association hosts a celebration of Easter traditions on the Roger McGuire Green at Pack Square Park. With a large-scale egg hunt, races, games, creative activities and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Plus kid-friendly music and entertainment. Free. 2-5 p.m. Visit www.ashevilledowntown.org.

First Presbyterian Church of Swannanoa Easter egg hunt: Egg hunt, face painting and more. Rain or shine, 2-4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Swannanoa, 372 Bee Tree Road. 686-3140 or www.swannanoapres.org.

Fletcher Easter egg hunt: Parade of Hats begins at 11:45 a.m., with egg hunt starting at noon. More than 7,000 Easter eggs filled with prizes. Meet the Easter Bunny. At Fletcher Community Park, 85 Howard Gap Road. For ages walker to 11. 687-0751, www.fletcherparks.org.

Grovewood Easter egg hunt: Grovewood Gallery and Grovewood Café host their fourth annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages 2-9. Free. Hunt benefits MANNA Packs for Kids; admission is five canned goods. Jackson Park Easter egg hunt: Henderson County Parks and Recreation hosts hunt for ages 2-10 with music, prizes, the Easter Bunny, inflatables and food. Noon-2 p.m. at Jackson Park, Hendersonville. Call 697-4884.

Biltmore Estate Easter egg hunts: Easter Rabbit appears on Biltmore's Front Lawn, along with magic shows, music, storytelling, crafts. Ages 9 and younger free when accompanied by an Estate pass holder or ticketed adult. Bring your own basket to collect eggs. Chimney Rock Park's 57th Annual Easter Sunrise Service: Gates open 5-6 a.m. for the 6:30 a.m. service. Nondenominational service with song, Scripture, special music and sunrise over Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Gorge. Arrive early, dress warmly and bring a flashlight. Free, and attendees may stay in the park for the day. www.chimneyrockpark.com.

Great Easter Egg Hunt: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Main Street Nature Park in Weaverville. For age 2-10. Baskets provided at entrance behind Town Hall. Sack races at noon, 1 and 2 p.m. for all ages. Photos with Easter bunny. Activities throughout day at Jack of Hearts, 10 S. Main St., and Chuck Beattie Blues Band free show noon-4 p.m.

Sunrise service at Lake Junaluska: Celebrate Easter at Lake Junaluska with a sunrise service at 7 a.m., buffets and more. 800-222-4930.

Sunrise service in Pritchard Park: Grassroots Church hosts an Easter service at 7 a.m. at Pritchard Park, downtown Asheville. Visit www.thereishopeavl.com.
