The Oct. 28-30 festival has also added Special Disco Version featuring James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, St. Vincent, Flying Lotus, Zomby, SBTRTK, Yacht, John Manus, Childish Gambino, Beats Antique, The Drums, Bath, Savoy, Araabmuzik, Cloudland Canyon, Fareed Haque and MathGames, Grimes, Mimi Goese and Ben Neill, Moon Duo, Warm Ghost, EOTO and Fine Peduncle.
The festival previously announced such headliners as Moby, Flaming Lips, Ghostland Observatory, Chromeo STS9 and an art installation and lecture by Brian Eno, who will show his "77 Million Paintings" video work at the YMI Cultural Center.
"We have some other facets of the festival that we will be announcing in coming weeks," said Moogfest promotor Ashley Capps of AC Entertainment in Knoxville.
Moogfest, which honors the memory of the late electronic music pioneer Robert Moog, has become one of the city's best-known music events. Grammy-winner Moog, who lived in Asheville until his 2005 death, was the inventor of the keyboard music sythensizer which radically changed both peformance and recording.
Tickets have been selling fast for the festival, now in its second year. "Response has been fantastic and we don't even have day passes on dale yet," Capps said.
