The Montford Park Players open their 2011 outdoor theater season with an all-new production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged," at 7:30 tonight through Sunday, at Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay St. in the Montford community. The comedy continues through May 29.

While most of the Montford Park Players' shows are free, this production is a ticketed fundraiser for the company. But all Thursday performance are "pay what we're worth" night, and the audience will decide how much to contribute after the show. Tickets on other nights are $8-$15.

In "The Complete Works," three dudes perform 38 of Shakespeare's works in a two-hour span. The comedy spoofs all of Shakespeare plays including the sonnets. The cast features Bradford Hale, Travis Lowe and Chris McLoughlin and is directed by Jeff Catanese.

The theater will continue its season with "The Comedy of Errors" and "Double Falsehood," June 3-26.
"The Asheville Shakesperience" with some of the Bard's greatest works, runs July 1-3, Aug. 5-7 and Sept. 9-18. "All's Well that Ends Well" plays July 8-31. And the outdoor season ends with "Julius Caesar," Aug. 12-Sept. 4.
