 Asheville Pet Expo, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, WNC Agricultural Center, Fanning Bridge Road, Fletcher.

 Dynamite Teen Dance Party, 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Boone Building, WNC Agricultural Center, Fanning Bridge Road, Fletcher.

Spring Forest Festival, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Bent Creek Experimental Forest, Asheville. Celebrating national and experimental forests of North Carolina. Free.

Festival of Flowers, begins Saturday, runs through May 15, Biltmore Estate. Celebrates the beauty of George Vanderbilt's 8,000-acre property and its original design by Frederick Law Olmsted, father of American landscape architecture.

Coming up

Western Carolina University's International Festival, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, A.K. Hinds Center, Cullowhee campus. Music, dance, arts and crafts, live entertainment and food from a variety of countries. Free.

10th annual Diversity Festival, 3-9 p.m. Wednesday, Plemmons Student Union, Appalachian State University, Boone. Live music, children's activities, storytellers and dancers. Free.

ActionFest 2011, action film festival, April 7-10, Carolina Asheville cinemas.

6Sixth annual BBQ Cook-off and Bluegrass Jam, starting at noon April 8 and 11 a.m. April 9, WNC Farmers Market, 570 Brevard Road, Asheville. Live music, inflatables, barbecue sampling. Free.

WCU Jazz Festival, April 8-9, Cullowhee campus. Main performances are at 7:30 nightly. Festival includes rehearsals, clinics and master classes. Free. Schedule at

Vintage Car Cruise-In, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 16, Seventh Avenue district, downtown Hendersonville. Vehicles from Hendersonville's Antique Car Club, music, food.

Asheville Earth Day and Healthy Kids Day, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. April 16, Pack Square. Live music, kid's village, eco-village, wellness games and more.

Hickory Hops craft beer festival, 1-7 p.m. April 16, Union Square, Hickory. $30, $10 designated drivers. No one younger than 21 will be permitted to enter.

All Go West Music Festival, noon-10 p.m. April 23, West Asheville. Local art, fashion, food, beer and local bands. Free.

14th annual French Broad River Festival, April 29-May 1, Hot Springs. Outdoor music festival, with mountain bike races, a kid's village, arts and crafts vendors, outdoor vendors and food. Tickets are $65 if purchased by April 20, $75 after.

Trillium Festival, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 30, Unitarian Universalist Church, 500 Montreat Road, Black Mountain. Live music, games, contests, rummage sale, plant and bake sale and cake walks. Free admission with small charge for games.

Johnson Farm Festival, featuring The Lonesome Road Band, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 30. $6, $4 K-12, free for preschoolers. 891-6585.
